A fan's blog post about the MORP 2005 show at Hurricane High School, saved by the band on June 21, 2005. It was posted on journalspace.com — a platform that was lost completely in 2009 — so this saved copy is likely the only one that survives.
Morp was awesome. I got to spend a lot of time with Emily.*wink* I took pictures of some friends, but I couldn't get all that I wanted cos my battery friggin died. Ah well, that's what I get for not charging it ahead of time. The bands were pretty sweet. The Redding Brothers are changing their style some, and it sounded great. I talked to Gabriel, the drummer some. I had met him before in Buffalo, through a mutual friend. Fairweather Fan was there, and it's always great to see a hometown band. I bought a shirt, cos I dig their tunes and I know Paul and Matt from Forrest Burdette Youth. I thought they were great, but Paul said that they haven't been getting much love from local fans. He said that they try to get shows a little further away from Putnam County, which is too bad, cos they're awesome. Scenes from a Movie was playing when I left. Them and Fairweather Fan were the best ones there. I'd liked to see Scenes from a Movie and the Redding Brothers again sometime soon, so I can kinda familiarize myself with their music.
I met Derek's girlfriend, Brit, tonight. Derek, I'm so happy for you...*sniff*. You guys are great together. Keep having fun! I saw Rosie and Olivia's sister Zoe there which was super cool, cos I haven't seen her since I was little. Morp was just a really fun time, and I can't wait for next year. There's always Ichthus in April!
